Announcing the return of the London Penny Readings!
It’s been nearly three months since our last spectacular Penny Readings took place in Liverpool, and we’re excited to announce that the next extravaganza is coming up very soon…
The London Penny Readings will return for the third time in 2016, celebrating the presence of Shared Reading in the capital. We’ll be bringing the show to Southwark Playhouse on Sunday 24th April, featuring a packed programme of readings, music and entertainment all based on a tradition made famous by Dickens which made reading accessible to the general public. The Penny Readings have taken London by storm in 2012 and 2014 respectively, with past guests including names such as A.S. Byatt, Louis de Bernierès and Arthur Smith, and we can’t wait to bring another amazing show to our readers in the city.
As is customary, tickets to the event will be accompanied by an entry fee of just one penny.
